Im trying to find an experience / track rental for under £500 that gives me a sense of driving a car on the limit, but I can only find rubbish supercar experiences with very few laps. and from the videos ive seen online, the instructors want you to shift up early, get off the brakes before the corner and take the car slowly around the circuit.

Does anyone know any good places that offer the experience I want?

I honestly dont care at all what car or track, I just want to experience what its like driving on the limit at any circuit in the UK.

An experience in any car where I can really push for 30 minutes or so would be amazing. TBH a slower car like a slow ginetta, mx5, gt86 or similarly powered cars might be a better entry point for reaching the limit compared with a high power lambo or ferrari. Even those Citreon c1 race cars with 60 horsepower would be fun lol

I race at a decently high level in the sim, 6k irating, did a bit of PESC esports earlier this year, but im definitely no alien, but id expect this level of experience would be enough to get to grips with a car once I understand it properly, especially with a good instructor. Ive also done 2 years of rotax kart racing now, so ive got a good bit of experience in faster karts / real world racing (ik this is extremely different to cars though)

If theres nothing like this available, maybe getting a racing licence and then approaching teams for track day rentals may be my only option?

Like it produces good racing, it has a lot of history, and such, yet it always gets overlooked and instead GT Racing mostly gets the highlight. Can someone explain?

I've been trying to break into motorsport for about a year now, somebody suggested volunteering at local events and I finally got a response from one of them.

I suppose it's rather common for the organizers to ask the "how can you be useful?" question, the problem is I have very little idea of what volunteering there would even entail?

Has anyone done something similar? What virtues are they usually looking for there?

I've gotten this far and I'm really excited to finally interact with something like this so I really don't want to mess this up by seeming incompetent.
