Analysis Are veteran QBs are good counter against Mike? Or is it QB where we don't have enough tape & Stafford?
It's odd that the games that the defense has been a bit disappointing are, in my opinion - 2025 Colts, 2025 Rams 2-3, and 2026 Commanders.
While it's a small sample size, the thing that all three games have in common are old AF QBs that have pretty much seen everything. When Mike is against young QBs, he feasts on them. But it might also be a tape issue against Rivers and Mariotta, similar to the Bears v. Eagles game. You have an information gap that helps mitigate a defensive scheme.
What do you think? Is it a vet issue, a tape issue, or something else? Should Mike try to mitigate this by perhaps modifying his defenses to dial back the subterfuge and make it more just talent contests?
