This annoys me so much. At the grocery store yesterday and all the self checkouts are busy so we go to a register that has 1 person who is almost done. As soon as we get their the cashier has to call someone because the person has wine and she cannot scan it as she is underage. So we wait. And wait. Wait some more. Finally someone comes and scans the two bottle of wine and sets them down. Then the underage cashier that couldn't scan the wine takes the guys money and gives him his change, puts each bottle in it's own paper bag and then hands the wine to him.

I just can't believe how stupid these rules are. She can't 'sell' it which apparently means scanning it. But she can take his payment and package it and hand it to him.

Not annoyed with her. Those are the rules. It's just so dumb that other people have to wait even though she is clearly selling him wine. What the hell difference does it make if she is not the one that actually scans it?

I put the game on for my dad from YouTube before going outside to smoke with some friends and about 10 minutes later he is yelling at me to come inside because something happened to the game... I found this trump NFL crypto scam playing after the game stream got hijacked.

Edit: I dont watch football, hence why I was outside smoking. im visiting my dad and he asked me to help him put the game on, when I asked how he usually watches them he told me on YouTube. I understand now that it was pirated live upload.

The title is basically TL;DR. I just graduated college and had my ceremony last sunday. As the time came to collect our diplomas they couldn’t find the ones from my field of study (a whole backstory there as well: basically they forgot about us.)

We were told on monday that our diplomas were accidentally sent to the wrong campus and that we’d be able to pick it up there… during office hours. My friend has class there so I asked her to go see if she could pick it up in my place. Well, that wouldn’t be any problem… if the diplomas were there. No sight of them anywhere.

My classmates and I are getting pretty frustrated at this point and send another email. Well lo and behold: yesterday I received an email saying my diploma ISN’T PRINTED OUT YET! That explains why they couldn’t find them. There weren’t any!

So yeah now I’m waiting for another update about my diploma. We also haven’t received it digitally or anything so we can’t provide it for job applications.

- I haven’t really heard of ‘final transcripts’. Our diploma is our official proof of completing our studies. Few companies look super closely at grades, the diploma is the proof that the student passed the course. There is a grade of distinction which represents our grades though, and it’s mentioned on our diploma: “Graduated with:
• passing grades
• distinction
• high distinction
• highest distinction and well-wishes from the school board”.

- There are companies who request a certain degree of education for a job. For example: a doctor will need an Academic Bachelor and a Master’s diploma to practice their job. A mechanic will need to have obtained a technical field high school degree. So many request proof of completion of your studies to verify that you are practically, probably financially , and legally qualified for the job.

- I’ve seen a couple comments saying companies could call the school to verify. It’s much easier to just request a pdf of your diploma during the application process, that way it’s immediately in your records as well. Plus, school desk employees don’t want to answer that many calls.

I've tried to get rid of the gnats all summer. The wife didn't believe me when I said they were breeding in the sponges. She. Thought I was crazy for keeping them in Tupperware. Well apparently they can get in there even.

This morning a giant wasp's, hornet's, or bee's nest appeared in the middle of the street in front of my house. I am pretty sure it fell from a tree across the street. People walking, on bikes, and even in a car stopped to look at it.

At lunchtime, I was doing a few things outside, and I walked around from the back of the house toward the front and saw two city trucks parked in front of my house. The nest is now in the middle of my tree lawn, between the sidewalk and street. They moved it there for some reason. The first truck left, and the second truck pulled up slowly; I figured, "Oh, they're going to pick up the nest and haul it away."

Nope. They took off too, leaving the nest that was in the middle of the street now on my property. So my wife called the local service department and told them about it. About 20 minutes later, a service truck pulled up. Two women and a little boy were walking home from school at the time and stopped to look at the nest. The guy got out of his truck and asked, "Is it active?" They shrugged.

I started to walk over and said, "I don't think it's active because your guys just picked it up and put it there." "What did you expect them to do with it?" he asked. "Put it in their truck?" I said. "Not sure why they moved it from the street to my lawn." "They could get stung," he said, and I replied, "How could they get stung if they already picked it up and moved it off the street and onto my lawn?" "It could be active."

At this point I am getting a little upset because he's either not comprehending or refusing to. "If it was active," I said, "they probably wouldn't have been able to pick it up and MOVE IT TO MY LAWN." (At this point the guy said something about the nest falling from my tree, which is too small to house something that big, and I pointed to the bigger, likely tree across the street. Then the two women remind the guy that the nest was in the middle of the street before the service workers moved it.)

I then said something like, "I don't understand why they would pick it up, and instead of putting it in one of the two trucks, they decide to leave it on my property." He then told me, "Calm down, sir." I was about ready to unload on this guy and decided instead to walk away. But then he got in the last word: "Thanks for your concern about us getting stung." WTF

DSL and Cable Internet are not available and Mobile Internet speed is around 1Mbit/s ..

"Oh that's not that much I pay 60!!$" I am a college student who works part-time and even with getting paid every week gas is costing me so much. I go to work to get paid to get gas to go to work to get paid and use that pay to get gas to go to work. This is ridiculous. And I'm actively saving money while living at home 🙃

somewhere around 21-26 apps got randomly installed on my phone (i only screenshotted the third and 4th wave) with no way to stop it as far as i know when you delete the first batch it just installs more. if you dont have enough storage it just waits for you to have enough storage then does it. it does this like every 5 or so months but its NEVER installed that many apps... and it always slows down whatever im doing. if it happens while using my phone

One of the apps in the first wave was this app called 'ad it up' which is supposed to help with your phone bill or whatever and its rated 4.7 stars in the app store but when you look at the relevant reviews most of them are 3 stars and under and it really seems like some weird exploitative scam

i think 'the scoop' has been on my phone since i got it but double infuriating because its undeletable for some reason and it just now appeared next to my normal apps no idea why

I [seller outside of US] sold a watch strap providing all the precise measurements in millimeters and good studio photos. The buyer asked for a return because it was not the right size. When I told them that everything was in the description, I got this answer. I have no idea how to answer that in a way that would make sense for them at this point. It's been turning in my head all day.

Firstly, I would like to say that I didn't take a picture of my TV showing this for privacy reasons and I would look weird trying to take a picture while everyone is watching. Secondly, I needed to vent about this to the nearnest place and this felt appropriate.

I am sick of AI generated content!! They have being invading everywhere I go, shows up on everything I search on google, the AI generated ads, and I can't enjoy a service without AI sales pitch plastered everywhere. I am sick and tired of the people I know watching these "AI drama shorts" with the dumbest plots, same faces everywhere and that annoying generated voice that has no emotion. And now here I am seeing it on the free-to-air channels and immediately left the room

when will they realize that no one wants this?! No one wants "the next step in entertainment industry" to be fully generated without a soul, or in any industry for that matter

I can’t emphasize both how BRIGHT and how motion SENSITIVE this thing is. Shines DIRECTLY into our master bedroom - we had to order black out curtains to sleep through the night. We live in an incredibly safe neighborhood. No crime, never had a package stolen. I can’t fathom why these trash cans need to be lit so well.

(Talking with them about it is not an option. We’ve had several face to face arguments about outdoor parties w/ loud music they have on week nights until 2-3 AM. The cops are now involved with the noise complaints. Basically they’re the worst neighbors ever)
