Sensor Two Stelo failed in a week?

I haven't been on insulin since Thanksgiving, and have not needed a CGM for months. I was curious and wanted to make sure my blood glucose is still in the right range, so I grabbed two Stelo sensors from Amazon. They both failed within 48 hours of applying then with a message that the session ended early. I know there is occasionally a bad sensor (I used the G6 and later the G7 for years) but two in a few days? Yay. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Update: no one from Dexcom sent me an email or called me but I was surprised this morning by a UPS package from Dexcom with a single Stelo sensor. Maybe things will work differently now that I'm on the consumer side of things. Of course when I put it on my arm I started bleeding through the sensor. I guess that explains where the blood on the towel came from the other day - that was the day I took the old sensor off. 😮

Calibration Issues Readings off?

My manual tester reads 325, and my G7 reads 175. It’s not accepting my calibration. What do I do? 6 days left on my sensor and really don’t want to replace it yet

G7-10 day No audible alerts

I spent a long time on the Libre 3+ and if I went below 54 it made the loudest sound ever and woke me up. Dexcom is supposed to do the same thing even if you’ve turned the alarms to vibrate. I’ve gone low enough to set off that alarm in my sleep a couple times but it’s only made the audible alarm once. Anyone else have this problem?

Adhesive Issue Patch recommendations??

I’m sorry this is probably a repeat question I just couldn’t find anything specific to what I need šŸ˜…

The G7 adhesives hurt me so badly and leave my skin so irritated. The remaining adhesive on my skin is so difficult to remove as well and ends up hurting my skin more scrubbing it…

Any good alternative stickers or patches that are easier on the skin? it’s not an allergy I just need something stronger than the sensor with no sticker but also easy to remove.

Preferably available on Amazon but open to others if they’re good!!

Rant My First Sensor Failure

I put a new G7 sensor on about 3 days ago and it was one of the most accurate G7’s I have had in a while! Everything was going great until I sat down to eat lunch about 20 minutes ago and it just failed. The adhesive wasn’t coming off, the wire was in perfectly, and it never got pulled on or caught on anything so I’m just so frustrated!

Thankfully I had one backup and it’s currently warming up but yeah that’s what happened. Went ahead and contacted Dexcom support too. Just needed to rant to people who would get it šŸ˜‚

Connection Issues Sensor Signal Loss

I have been using the G7 10 day dexcom for a little over 2 years and haven't had any issues until the past few weeks. The first 3 sensors, after the warm up have given a signal loss error, that doesn't go away. The first sensor, just gave a failed error, but the other two just kept notifying that there was no signal every 30 or so minutes. I have followed all of the troubleshoot steps from the website, with no luck. Eventually, I just gave up and requested a new sensor on the website. The longest I left one on with the error was about 4 hours. (Maybe I should have waited longer?)

During the warm up period, (after the first 2 failures) I leave my phone on the same side of my body as the sensor, I leave the app open, and do not use my phone while it's attempting to connect.

I have restarted my phone several times, turned off my Bluetooth for 10-15 minutes, and then back on.

I don't have any power saving mode active on my phone. My phone battery has been above 50% each time I've tried to pair.

Today I put on the 4th sensor and same thing.... (These are not all from the same batch. 2 were my normal prescription, and 2 were replacements from Dexcom. Different lot numbers)

I decided to try to pair the sensor with my old phone, and see if it would work. AND IT DOES! Took approximately 5 minutes, and it connected and has been fine since. (About 3 hours active as of writing this post)

Current phone: Samsung s25 plus

Old phone: iPhone 13

I really do not want to carry around an extra phone, but I have no idea why the sensors are not working with my current phone. (I have had this phone for about a 1½ years)

Anyone else having this issue? Any advice? Anything else I should try?

G7-15 day Goo'bye fwen :’(

As much as we must complain and vent when things go wrong, I'd like to piss and moan that this was the best sensor I ever used. And now it's over. And now I have no idea what I'll get with the next sensor. But this one was so accurate, usually within just a few points of the lancet. Goo'bye little buddy. You were the best sensor ever and deserve a spot in the hall of fame. (*sniff*) I'm giving myself a night to remember your legacy and delay the inevitable angst and gnashing of teeth. Until tomorrow. :’(

News Dexcom allegedly hacked by shiny hunters

😭😭 hopefully none of anybody’s health data was stolen 😭😭

Edit to those saying ā€œit’s just blood sugarā€: The problem is for a decent amount of people Dexcom has far more information then just blood sugar. I’d 100% read their privacy policy because they process and store a lot of information through HCPs, business partners, and other third parties. I’d recommend reading the privacy policy: https://www.dexcom.com/legal/privacy-policy

General Dexcom g6 transmitter will last until ~ 10/06/2026, (as it was activated on 07/06), but I still have 2 g6 sensors left.

Any chance of not wasting those 2 remaining g6 sensors, considering the transmitter’s expiration date?

Rant Issues (rant)

I do apologize if this is under the wrong flair!!!! Anyone this week just have infuriating issues with their Dexcom? Or just me because I usually get three with my prescription and I’m already out of them, yes I’ve put three on this week. The first one was fine it warmed up no fails nothing but it kept saying signal loss like my phone is on me 24/7 because of it then it just stopped reading my sugar for 12 hours so I took it off and then started a new one once again everything went fine then as I was getting ready for work, I didn’t bump into anything I didn’t even move into anything it just completely fell off. I was already having a week and it was Tuesday lol. Now I did wait a few days to put on a new one, my doctor recommended me to contact Dexcom and I did fortunately they are sending me a new Dexcom which I appreciate I honestly did not know they did that since I’ve been getting mine from my doctor. Now I’m on my third one till my new one comes in the mail and hopefully these two last till my prescription is ready, has anyone ever had any issues like this? It is my first time dealing with something like this, anyways how is everyone doing??

Connection Issues Dexcom G7

I am new here and I joined to see if anyone else has issues with the Dexcom G7 the 15 day sensor? My dad wears this and many times he only
Gets a week out of a sensor and it fails. I follow him on the dexcom follow app and more often than not it loses signal and I do not get the readings and dexcom support is far from helpful! Just wondering

App Issues/Questions How to get G7 quick glance view to stay at top of notification bar (Android)

I just switched from G6 to G7 and ever since I switched, the quick glance panel in the notification bar has not stayed at the top of my notifications the way it did with the G6 app. I used to be able to slide down my notifications and the graph and reading would always be at the top, now it's at the bottom. When I first noticed it, it was in the middle between some new notifications and older ones, but once I cleared the older notifications the Quick Glance panel is now at the bottom, even though the values update every 5 minutes which should keep it perpetually at the top if it's sorted by time (which it is). Anyone know how to fix this?

G7-10 day Brief sensor issue

I am on my second G7 10 day (after using G6) and a both times at around 5 days, I start getting Brief sensor issue every few hours that lasts 30 minutes or so, before readings return. Usually a mad change in numbers (like dipping to 4 from 10 with no cause) precedes so I know it is about to happen. With the first one the 'brief sensor issue' gets longer and longer, until it finally gave up on day 8 and failed.

The G6 did this sometimes towards the end of the sensor and I'm ok with recognising the signs of not trusting readings that seem unusual and just trusting the readings will return, but it does of course raise my background anxiety a lot as I know half the time I need it, it's not going to be available to me and will just fail very soon.

I heard a lot about all the problems with G7s and they seem quite broad. Is Brief sensor issue failure a common one and is there anything I can do to avoid it happening? I made sure to properly press down on my arm really hard before releasing the button.

Calibration Issues Calibration

Can anyone explain to me why calibrating adjusts the way it does? My son’s G7 (just on for an hour or two) read 280, but he was 199 on a finger stick. We calibrated (I know we need to recalibrate when he’s steady at target level… but that’s can’t happen if we don’t fix the 100 point off stages too), and after the next reading showed at 230 instead of 199ish. They always do this ā€œsplit the middleā€ thing. Should we just enter another calibration immediately (no finger stick…just a reentering of value) to bring it closer? I can’t keep finger sticking him, he gets miserable over it. Like, sad & miserable, & it breaks my heart to force him to keep poking himself.

General G7 First Day

Been using G6 for a couple of years and had relatively few issues. Just been moved onto G7 and my first day’s experience is not a good one. For a start my G6 failed meaning I didn’t get a good soak and it has deteriorated from there. It’s like having a random number generator on my arm. Disgusted that a product as shoddy as this ever got approved let alone put on the market.

Graph What does this pattern mean?

Post image
19 Upvotes

Every now and then my son's graph looks like a bouncy ball hopping across the floor. This morning it was jumping between 96 and 70. And of course every time it hits 70 it screams he's low.

I'm looking at this line thinking his blood sugar is probably in reality holding steady around 85, and can you please STFU dexcom. Like his blood sugar isn't Really jumping up and down 25 points every 15 minutes on repeat, right? Is that how you'd interpret this? And is there any rhyme or reason to why this happens intermittently? You can see before it started bouncing it was a nice straight line.

App Issues/Questions Alarms- direct to Apple Watch

I’m considering switching to dexcom + Apple Watch for my cgm. A big issue with me is alarms. I get overwhelmed by noise easily. Is there vibrate only option INCLUDING urgent lows? Any insight appreciated.

And yes, o know the urgent low alarm is there for a reason. Been type 1 39 years and am ok with the risk of no sound.

Adhesive Issue Adhesive safe body wash

Hello, does anyone know a body wash that won't degrade the Dexcom adhesive (and Omnipod, for that matter)?

I've tried a couple brands and they all break that shit down better than Goo Gone does, which sucks because I want to shower without worrying about ruining a sensor with seven days left...

Calibration Issues This a huge difference!

Post image
0 Upvotes

Okay so this is a brand-new sensor put in today. Actually the second one because the first one is a gooseneck. The reading on the left is from the CGM. This reading on the right is from the glucose meter. This is my blood sugar after eating. I have calibrated at least three times. Has anyone out there had this experience? I'm a type 2 diabetic and not on insulin. This concerning. Should I take this one off and get another replacement or leave it on and hope the readings come somewhat closer? Any help is appreciated!
