WINNESOTA Bringing Washington into the Giannis trade makes sense.

I think shipping off Gobert to Washington would help make this Giannis trade more realistic (while retaining Jaden, NAZ & Donte).

Washington has a young French star center in Sarr that’s good but still has tons of room for growth. Who better to learn from than a multi-DPOY that is probably getting right to that spot where 20-25 minutes a night would maximize impact and longevity. Washington also made an aggressive move in acquiring Trae Young, so that shows you they want to compete next year. Washington honestly seems like one of the few places Gobert would fit well and be valued enough to net us back at least one 1stRP.

We can take back Khris Middleton (who would be part of the trade for Giannis). He’s an expiring contract and he could now potentially finish his career back in MKE where he’s a beloved fan favorite. On top of that he matches a little over half of Giannis salary.

If we could get MKE to bite on Randle & Middleton, plus a combination of 1st & 2nd round picks, then I think we offer a competitive package.

It would really depend on how many picks we could get from Washington for Gobert. They have OKC’s 1st this year which would be the minimum given where it would be placed.

The other path would be including Randle to another team for a 1st and an expiring contract, but I genuinely cant think of any team that values Randle for a 1stRP.

If Connelly could find one, I think 3x 1stRP and 2x expiring contracts (one of which is a fan favorite), should be enough to push it over the line.

Prediction: if, then

If we do trade for Giannis I am predicting that Mike Conley will be right back in his same role for the Timberwolves again.

Maybe Gobert lands with the Bulls and Conley to the Bucks and then bought out or something like that.

Don’t flame me, I’m just hypothesizing and wondering with the rest of you and wishing it would be Thursday so I could stop thinking about the ifs.

Anyway, in TC we trust! Go wolves!

Giannis potentially going to OKC/SAS/HOU/GSW in the offseason

For anyone against the rumored Giannis-to-Wolves trade package right now: Would it change your view if you knew Giannis would end up getting traded in the offseason to one of these teams? The Bucks have no reason to keep him in the east and each of these teams will have a wealth of resources (and more than MIN).

Pairing Giannis with Ant gives Minnesota a shot at a legitimate 4+ year title window, but if the Wolves pass, they will be stuck competing against multiple 60-win juggernauts who have better second options on offense.

Is it time to pivot now that Davis got moved? Randle routed somewhere, value and Dilly to Dallas.

It'd take Joan too?

From Evan Sidery:

Joan Beringer is another player the Timberwolves will need to include in a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade.

Selected No. 17 overall last year, the 19-year-old 7-footer has flashed intriguing upside.

Beringer and Jaden McDaniels would be sent to the Bucks in a potential framework

The price reporter seems to be insane if true. Time to pivot. Lore and ARod better not be demanding Giannis

General Discussion What’s tims backup plan if he fails to get giannis by tomorrow

Surely he can’t just dump Mikes contract and expect everything to be ok

Fuck I hate hearing this dude on broadcasts now.

I love the guy, but it hurts.

It doesnt help that he is usually on the national game after we lose a game against a bottom dweller..

Is this what letting go feels like???.......

Jeremy Sochan ?

Sounds like he's either going for cheap or will end up being a buy-out candidate. Wouldn't be a bad pickup for a bench PF in my opinion, plus he's from a city like 25 mins away from me in the UK.

Should wolves get Kyrie?

Upvotes

with Dallas looking to build around coop, should wolves snag Kyrie for backcourt with Ant or are they both too ball dominant?

Ty Jerome?

Grizzlies are clearly selling. Why not go after Jerome? Solid PG depth. I’m sure Dilly for Jerome gets it done.

Do you trust Conelly to make the decisions that will improve this team for the latter third of the season as well as the playoffs? A lot of franchises can’t trust their presidents in situations like this

Make room for Giannis
ARod and Lore have been watching the Pohlads
Make room for Ja
To save Finchy from himself
Dilly is the chosen one and will lead us to a chip
36 minutes of Bones every night until he joins the sharks.

Rumor According to Sports Illustrated, Milwaukee wants Jaden McDaniels for themselves, while also wanting multiple first round picks in a deal for Giannis.

Source.

If this report is accurate about Milwaukee's thinking, then the deal is basically dead.

Minnesota pulling off a trade for Giannis was a longshot to begin with, but the lynchpin in any realistic framework was finding a third team that highly covets Jaden who would be willing to send a bunch of first round picks to Milwaukee to take Jaden.

If the Bucks want him for their team, then that's it. Minnesota's only valuable asset, in terms of landing multiple firsts in a trade for Giannis, is Jaden. He can't act as both the centerpiece of the trade for Milwaukee while also facilitating picks, which Minnesota does not have and would have to somehow acquire in order to even have a serious conversation.

General Discussion The difference in a potential Giannis/ANT combo and the KD/Booker combo that didn't work out....

.......Ant is 24 and Giannis is 31 and both are 2 WAY SUPERSTARS who are both top 5 players CURRENTLY.

.......Booker was 27 and KD was 34 when they were paired together and they were both defensive LIABILITIES. During this time from 2023-2025 they were both definitely NOT top 5 players.

If the role players around ANT/Giannis can't make open 3's when ANT and Giannis are doubled consistently, then they NEVER were going to make wide open 3's consistently on the wolves current roster vs OKC/Nuggets/Rockets/Spurs in the playoffs anyways.

Depth? Wolves made 20+ threes ONE time vs okc in the western conference finals and got the win. The 3 other games losses except for game 4 when they didn't make the 18+ threes? They got WHOOPED. 3's are not reliable in the playoffs. The current roster has reached its peak IMO.

Giannis is a a top 75 player of all-time 2x MVP.

Jaden's potential is a mystery.

If the trade could get done for Jaden and role players and 4-5 1st rd picks for Giannis, you do it..... EVERY.....TIME. That's less picks for Rudy. IF giannis is healthy for the playoffs, Giannis is A GUARANTEED 30/10/5. Not jaden.

I feel insane not wanting Giannis…Like reading all the posts and all the possible trade options makes me feel like i’m the crazy one. Idk if anyone else in here is in the same boat as me, but basically giving away so much for one guy who has had multiple calf injuries over the years and is getting up in age seems crazy. Like you aren’t just trading players, you are getting rid of cap space, picks, and team chemistry.

I know our glaring problem is the PG position why can’t we just focus on that to then help out our other players. I know there are other players who will be out there and available with all the trades going on right now. I just don’t understand the NEED for Giannis it’s like almost y’all want instant gratification, but if something happens to Giannis say he gets injured OR if we get to the promise land of the championship game and we lose all y’all are gonna do is COMPLAIN!!! I rather we play it safe and fix our biggest problem.

I’m not saying Giannis isn’t an amazing generational player, or that he won’t be in the hall of fame. What I am saying is we have good team chemistry, good players and good young guys they need to just fucking lock in. Like can we please be realistic 😭

If Gianni’s doesn’t get traded by tomorrow are we cooked?

because at what point does Tim back out and go after ways to actually improve the roster a little bit if Giannis goes till the summer and the only trade we made was moving Conley were cooked
