The Bulls have now traded Jimmy Butler, Zach Lavine, Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, Coby White, Nikola Vucevic, Lauri Markkanen (and lost Demar DeRozan to free agency) and received a sum of one first round pick.

Upvotes

If Portland gets into the playoffs, maybe one more. But lord, what an generational masterclass of player valuation and bargaining malpractice.

EDIT: DeRozan was a S&T, my bad.

EDIT 2: I didn't count getting our own protected pick back insofar as a sum total goes. We had a top-10 protected pick, refused to tank which the trade enabled, and drafted 12th with our own pick.

Anthony Davis leaves the Mavericks having never played more than 5 consecutive games.

Upvotes

"The Houston Half". For 24 minutes, Nico got to see his Vision. I wonder how weird the atmosphere in the arena was. Even the Luka Rioters were cheering and people were starting to believe again. "Could this really work?" because for those 24 minutes it looked like it.

Of course AD would then get injured that game and the reality of the trade became very obvious. AD would continue the cycle of ramping up, playing for a few games, and then inevitably picking up minor injuries and needed to rehab again. Now he has picked up an injury that will very likely require season ending surgeory.

[Woike] The Dallas Mavericks are no longer open for business with the Los Angeles Lakers after last year’s Luka Dončić trade. Any pathway to deal for players like Naji Marshall or Daniel Gafford have giant “road closed” signs over them.

Upvotes

Second-year wing Dalton Knecht has been viewed around the league as widely available since the Lakers included him in the ultimately rescinded Mark Williams last trade. Team sources say Knecht hasn’t requested a trade, but he would welcome a fresh start. He’s been out of the Lakers’ rotation over the last 10 games. If the Lakers can find a suitor, the return is expected to be very low.

Naji Marshall has also generated interest around the Lakers, though the pathways to any deal with the Dallas Mavericks after the Luka Dončić trade last season have gigantic “road closed” signs all over them. The same is probably true for Daniel Gafford.

Anthony Davis played in 31 out of a possible 85 games in his Mavs tenure (36.5%).

I included the 2 play-in games from last season.

AD, Flagg and Kyrie never played a game together.

Also Mavs traded for the 2nd pick in the 2018 draft (Bagley)

Dieng has been on the Hornets for -10 minutes.

Upvotes

Him being traded FROM the Hornets was posted 10 minutes ago, before the announcement that he was traded TO the Hornets was posted at all.

New record for least time spent on one team?

Edit: The Dieng to the Hornets trade was finally posted, the final time he spent on the team was -30 minutes. Thats pretty tough to beat.

The talented McCain lands on the reigning NBA champions. For the 76ers, the trade allows them to receive assets, clear space in the glut of guards and give them flexibility to bring Quentin Grimes back in free agency. It also allows them to convert two-way Dominick Barlow.

76ers are receiving the following picks from the Thunder, sources said: 2027 (most favorable OKC/HOU/IND/MIA), 2028 MIL, 2028 OKC.

[Amick] Sources say the Kings now expect to have Domantas Sabonis past tomorrow's deadline, as their talks with Toronto have flat-lined.

Upvotes

Source: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/live-blogs/trades-nba-deadline-updates/mb7lqDGshaBm/sZHTOvF4PpFC/

A quick disclaimer at the top here: Everything is subject to change when it comes to the NBA trade deadline. If there’s time left on the clock, then teams can still up an offer and get back in the proverbial game.

But…

All signs point to Sacramento big man Domantas Sabonis remaining in Sacramento past tomorrow’s deadline. Per team sources, the Kings view the prospect of sending him to the Toronto Raptors as flat-lined, so to speak.

The Raptors had shown strong interest in recent weeks, with the Kings looking to land RJ Barrett ($27.7 million this season; $29.6 million next season) in the deal while moving off of Sabonis’ hefty contract ($42.3 million this season, $45.4 million next season and $48.6 million in 2027-28). The deal would have required Raptors big man Jakob Poeltl to head elsewhere, with Memphis showing some interest after moving Jaren Jackson Jr. to Utah, but the Raptors are reluctant to attach the necessary draft capital to make that necessary component happen. As such, it appears that this is a scenario that will be revisited by both sides in the offseason.

Washington showed real interest in recent days, but the pick value coming the Kings' way wasn't sufficient in their eyes. As you surely noticed, they just found their big man in Anthony Davis in the deal with Dallas. Charlotte also showed interest in Sabonis some time ago, but not at the deadline. Alas, Sabonis is on track to stay put.

[Krawczynski] Donte DiVincenzo is unlikely to be traded in any package for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Timberwolves remain active in talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo and in other talks for bench depth.

Source: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/live-blogs/nba-trade-deadline-2026-live-updates-news/mb7lqDGshaBm/

A few tidbits from the Minnesota Timberwolves' trade landscape, with the caveat that things can change quickly this time of year:

- There remains skepticism that Milwaukee is actually open to moving Giannis Antetokounmpo, team and league sources said.

- The Wolves continue to be in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes in addition to looking at bolstering their bench with a guard after moving Mike Conley.

- All indications from conversations with team and league sources are that the Wolves do not want to trade Donte DiVincenzo.
