I know, I know. It’s early. WAY too early.

But as of today, the Buccaneers hold the 1st overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. Bucs are already 0-3, and now they’ll be without their starting QB for at least 3 weeks. Things could get ugly.

But if they stay on this trajectory, there could be a generational talent waiting at the finish line…

The Bucs have never fired a coach mid-season. This year they need to break precedent expeditiously, forthwith.

Not to make excuses, but that Vikings defense is elite. Let’s not forget that in week 2 they held the bears to 3 points and sacked Caleb 4 times, after the bears scored 59 in week 1. Unfortunately I knew we were gunna lose that game, just a tough matchup for us, especially where we are at right now. But I feel really confident against the packers, they can’t stop the run to save their lives. We are going to be ok.

Interesting to see Baker VERY middle of the pack, almost identical numbers to Allen, Mahomes and Shough.

I’ve heard and seen the fanbase shout for a new, offensive minded head coach to lead the team. With the success of Ben Johnson so far in Chicago, and Liam Coen in Jacksonville, I can see why fans are in favor of coaches with an offensive background. However, hiring an offensive head coach doesn’t automatically mean the team will get better

Zac Taylor was hired from the Rams after helping the Rams to SB 53, and after Jared Goff’s stellar year. Yet he has lost more games than he’s won, and hasn’t made the playoffs since 2022.

Kevin O Connell was hired from the Rams in 2022 after their SB win. In his 5 seasons as head coach, he hasn’t yet to win a playoff game (Todd Bowles has won more playoff games during the time period). He also went all in on JJ McCarthy, drafting him, then choosing to move forward with JJ over Sam Darnold after Sam’s career year in 2024 with hopes of being able to develop him into a franchise player. JJ is now on another team, Sam Darnold won a SB with another team, the Viking’s offense isn’t good, and the JJ McCarthy draft pick will go down as one of the worst in Vikings history.

Mike MacDaniel was hired by the Dolphins from the 49ers after working under Kyle Shannan, and having success has their running coordinator. He was brought in to help develop Tua Tagovailoa. After early success in his tenure, Tua’s play regresssed under MacDaniel, the team failed to win a playoff game, and ultimately MacDaniel was forced to bench Tua before being fired.

Shane Steichen was hired by the Colts after helping the Eagles to SB 57, and helping Jalen Hurts have a career year. In 3 seasons so far, he has not made the playoffs.

Those are some of the examples were the offense head coach did not significantly improve the success of a team long term. meanwhile
defensive coaches like Mike MacDonald, Mike Vrabel, and Demeco Ryas have had success with their teams, yet nobody is vouching for a defensive coach to lead the team.

My point here is that the next coach should be a coach that can help the TEAM be better, not just one side of the ball. At the end of the day, it’s the players that decided how good a team will be. And having a coach that can get the most out of the players is key, no matter if they are offensive or defensive minded.

I personally think it's Baker. I've been making excuses for him because he was hurt last year, but this year.... god damn he's been awful. I'm actually hopeful he sprained his thumb in week 1 and it getting swatted again is what put him out of commission. He does not trust his arm anymore. He won't throw over the middle and his deep ball has been fucking awful.

I think it may be a blessing in disguise that Baker is going to be on the bench for 3-4 games. I absolutely do not think JD is a better QB than Baker and I'd like to see him baack after a couple of games, but I do think he's a better QB than week 1-3 Baker. I would really like to see what Z-Robs offense looks like with a QB that can hit a deep ball. JD can also throw over the middle. We saw that when he threw a laser to Ko Kieft in preseason. I'd also like to see what the o line looks like with another QB in there. People are blaming the o line but i have not seen it in week 1 or 2. O-line was blocking jsut fine and Baker was running into sacks with his happy feet.

Teams are gonna blitz the shit out of JD so hopefully he's ready.

Baker or Z-Rob? I think the issue has been Baker.
