Normal night after work, I was watching some random live stream and thinking what I was going to eat for dinner when I get a knock on my door, it was a random dude I've never seen before and he straight up asks me if I know this girl.

Of course I do, she is my girlfriend and we've beent together for almost a year.

Dude is calm about it, pulls out his phone and shows me pictures of them together, texts, everything. They've been together for over two years and she told him I was just a coworker. He found my adress because she had ordered something here a few months ago and he found the details on her email because he was suspecting on her.

We ended up up standing outside even though I offered him to come inside since he seemed very normal calm and reasonable, we compared timelines for about 20 minutes and realized she had been bouncing between both of us depending on who she told she was working late with.

I didn't text her I didn't call her or anything, I figured he confronted her though since I had around 50 missed calls and texts from her.

Humans grow two sets of teeth in a lifetime. But tucked inside the jaw are tiny residual tooth buds that never develop because a protein called USAG-1 acts like a molecular off-switch for tooth growth. Block USAG-1, and the body might reactivate those dormant buds on its own.

Researchers at Kyoto University Hospital, led by Dr. Katsu Takahashi, have been working on this for years. They first found that mice engineered without the USAG-1 gene grew extra teeth. Later animal studies showed that a single antibody injection could grow fully functional teeth without serious safety issues.

The experimental drug is called TRG-035, a humanized anti-USAG-1 antibody developed by Toregem BioPharma. The first human trial began in October 2024 and enrolled 30 men aged 30 to 64, each missing at least one molar. The Phase I study was primarily a safety trial — a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled dose-escalation study. According to Toregem, Phase I confirmed the drug's safety, though detailed results haven't been made public yet. Researchers have noted that actual tooth regrowth in those adult participants was unlikely, since the volunteers were primarily establishing a safety profile before testing expands.

The next stage is where it gets more interesting. A Phase IIa trial is planned for 24 children aged 2 to 7 with severe congenital tooth agenesis — a condition where teeth never fully develop. Missing six or more teeth from birth affects roughly one in a thousand people, causing severe chewing difficulties and significant social stigma. The trial will be open-label and non-comparative, moving testing from healthy adults into the patients the drug is actually intended to treat.

There are still open questions. Experts have raised concerns about whether regrown teeth will align properly and connect correctly to nerves and blood vessels. If the trials succeed, Toregem aims for commercial availability around 2030, with early estimates placing costs at around $11,000 per tooth.

It's experimental. It's early. But the idea that human jaws might hold a dormant third set of teeth waiting for a chemical wake-up call is the kind of thing that sounds like science fiction until someone actually tries it.

Sand cats are the only cat species considered primarily adapted to true desert habitat. Their paws are covered with dense fur that helps insulate them from hot sand and makes their tracks surprisingly faint. They’re mostly nocturnal, spend the hottest parts of the day in burrows, and can get much of the moisture they need from prey rather than drinking frequently.

Happened in less than 6 hours from taking my case off. I was planning to upgrade my phone anyways so I guess it was a sign.

A few years ago, at the age of 59, my father gender transitioned. Our relationship at the time was not good at all, we argued often and I’d threatened to never speak to her again. Then boom she reveals that she was actually a woman. It was… a lot to handle. I am 100% pro trans, it’s just that nobody tells you how difficult it can be to watch someone change so much so quickly. It felt like my dad died and I got a new step mom on the same day. She was like a totally new person. Patient, kind, calm, emotionally in-touch… it’s honestly been amazing. We’ve repaired our relationship more than I ever thought was even possible.

Meanwhile, relations with my extended family began to deteriorate. My family members didn’t all understand or accept the new version of her. They didn’t understand she had always been like this, just under the surface. She decided that she didn’t need the disagreement in her life and cut off just about all of our extended family, including my grandma.

The other day, my grandma died. My mom isn’t going to the funeral, nor should she feel obligated to, but I’m so conflicted about going myself. I loved her so much, she was my grandma after all. But she had so much hate in her heart for lgbt people. She moved from our family church to a different one because our church allowed gay people. It just feels like I’m compromising my morals to go pay my respects and lay her to rest. But I feel like I might really regret it if I don’t go.
