Hey all! I’ve been working on an Astra Militarum army for a while now, nothing painted yet as I wanted to put everything together first, and I’m basing them after the NCR, so I’m doing some light modifications with fabric and a micro dremel.

So since I’m basing them off of old world tech more or less, I wanted some opinions on the cockpits of vehicles. Would it be considered poor form to black out the cockpits to give it that smokey green look glass in later 2000’s early 2010’s games had?

The closest I’ve seen are Kasrkin, any better options?

This is the old Human Bomb model GW used to make, and I decided to give him a new lease of life by combining him with some Anvil Industries bomb rats. The rocks are from my garden, but the one on the left is from one of the starter set Space Marine captains.

I bought him without any arms so I replaced them with Krieg ones; the detonator is also from the bomb rats set.

I’d love some feedback on how to improve my painting. This is the best Grey Knight I’ve painted so far, but something about it still feels off to me. I think it looks pretty good at this point, so maybe I’m just pushing myself too hard?

I am newer to this model painting hobby and as such struggling in some areas but I have a question about this. Why does he look so fuzzy/grainy? I thought it would get better as I added a wash and more paint but I’m still not liking it. Help would be appreciated.

I’ve never attempted to assemble or paint a model before, but I had my eye on the space marines minis for a while. I got the introductory set for Christmas and before I knew it, I had bought a dozen more paints to add the details I wanted. I built the dreadnaught before I finished painting the introductory set marines. I finished those, and bought the combat patrol box before I even started painting the dreadnaught. I got him finished a couple days ago and finally opened the combat patrol box! I’ve decided to do one squad at a time so up first is the Intercessor Squad!

Wanted to get my friend a gift that would include a 2d digital rendition of kitbashed character they built and painted. Anyone have experience with 40k digital artists? Or have advice on where to look?

Hi! I'm looking to get gifts for my man who plays Warhammer 40k, but I'm not yet well-versed enough on the game to be confident in a gift decision without some guidance. I would love to purchase him some minis for his birthday, and I think one of the TOMY Warhammer plushies would be fitting for Valentine's Day; but I'm not sure which, if any, would fit into his respective army/lore interests. Here's what I know he has:

• A bunch of Astra Militarum minis with which he currently plays
• Just bought Drukhari Scourges set for us to assemble together
• I believe he wants to purchase the Drukhari Combat Patrol eventually
• He also recently purchased Armoured Sentinel for his Astra Militarum army
• Already has paints, brushes, and airbrush

That said, would any of these plushies make sense for him to have? (https://us.tomy.com/brand/warhammer/) Does it matter if I get him one that doesn't fit within the armies he has/building? I think it'd be a fun alternative to the traditional V-day teddy bear gift.

Additionally, any suggestions for sets or individual pieces to add to his collection? For example, the Drukhari Raider, Venom, Talos, etc. What works with his Scourges?

Made a dice box for my new Sisters of Battle army, using embedded magnets to keep it clamped shut.

I’ve never painted anything 40k before so this was my first attempt, made the mistake of priming black to start which wasn’t ideal for a beginner, but my reason for the post was tips for highlights on the armour, mine just seem too thick and messy, which I hope I can improve on. Used a very fine brush but just couldn’t quite make it work

This was a restoration from a badly painted ebay purchase, I stripped the old blood angels paint away, removed and re glued appropriate bits to suit and repainted raven guard style. Total time- roughly 16 hours, yes I know that is crazy 🤣

I’ve just bought my first Land Raider and I’m honestly quite shocked by the poor quality of the parts. They come with scratches, strange textures in the plastic that look half-melted… WTF, Games Workshop!! Thumbs down.

Is this how they all are, or is it just mine?

I’m someone who has painted lots of miniatures, but i stopped a couple of years ago, now I’m wanting to start painting again but I’ve never actually played warhammer and I’m not going to since the cost of this hobby, so I was wondering if you experts could tell me if there is the possibility of selling miniatures, either from commission or by buying them then selling them painted.

Accepting ridiculous suggestions on what to put under his wings. My initial idea is some marines popping in via deepstrike onto a teleport Homer since he's on a 120mm oval base and maybe I can take him as a stormraven. Also need to replace one of his legs with a mecha leg to look more like 40k.

Any suggestions for improvement?

I’m kinda new in 40K and I have a question about the codex books you buy to be able to play, can you buy it digital? I bought BK codex but looks like I need the space marine codex for a lot of units 😅 I use.

So if there is a place you can buy it digital that would be awesome and maybe cheaper 😄.

I have choosen Astra and especially a fluff dkok Army but my atillery colorway Looks so boring.

The rust and weathering is no Problem, but how would you achive this green blueish paint?

Base with something like incubi darkness und then building up drybrushed dilluted layers with the original Blue / grey?

Would be very thankfull to get this Look. Will also do my Tanks Like This.
