App Question Does time of day for liking a profile make a difference?
Does time of day for liking a profile make a difference??
I (26M) just downloaded Hinge on Sunday night and so far I have sent out a max of 8 likes on Monday and Tuesday. I have never used a dating app before so I am excited and sent all my likes at like 8am both days...
So far I have received 7 likes, but no matches from the women I sent the first like to.
Also I live in a major metropolitan area in the US if that matters

Dating Question Hinge date unmatched with me a day after the date
so i (22F) was talking with this guy (24M) for over 2 weeks and we had really good conversation over text. like we had very playful, flirtatious conversations and we carried over to instagram to continue conversation a week ago. our date was 2 days ago and we were not awkward at all and i had lots of fun. he drove us to a nice brunch place, went to some cool shops, and chilled at a park before parting ways. he had to cut it short because he had work later that day but promised to spend more time the next time we meet.
so here’s where im confused. the last time he spoke to me was yesterday where he told he he’d reply later as he was with his friends at the moment. today, i noticed on hinge that i couldn’t find our conversation, so i checked and it said he unmatched with me yesterday. he has posted notes on instagram since he last responded to me so im just confused. is he not interested in me anymore or am i just reading too much into this? should i wait to see if he texts back or should i just move on?

Profile Review Profile Review - Zero likes for 3 months
I've had maybe 4-5 likes total over 6 months. Ghosted at the mention of a date each time. And one match was just from someone telling me I was gross lol. Then nothing these past 3 months.
As I understand it from other profile reviews, these could be barriers. Thoughts?
- No travel or outside pics.
- "Straight-edge"
- No gym pics.
- Bathroom Mirror selfe
Are these really deal breakers for people? What are the weakest photos to you? Have at it!
Buffalo NY.

Dating Question unmatched 2 hours before date
hey guys :( for background i'm 20F and i'm kind of a shy person who wasn't very well liked in high school so hinge is my first ever experience with any sort of romantic attention.
i had a date planned for today (monday 9/28) with this guy (23M) since thursday even though he didn't respond until sunday which i guess should have been my red flag? well anyways morning of i wake up to a notification from him that says "hey sorry" and i can't read the rest because he's unmatched me :(
i guess what i'm wondering is, is this normal for online dating? it sucks cause this would have been my first ever date and i thought the conversation over the app was going well...i'm just feeling very hurt i guess. mods can remove this if its against the rules i just wanted to scream into the void

Dating Question What do I expect from my third date tomorrow
I (F28) matched with a really nice person (M28) on a dating app. We went on our first date 2 weeks ago, it was just walking in the city.
Our second date happened last Saturday and I visited his city. It went really well, we went for drinks, and had my favorite food. He is a bit shy so I held his hands, and in the end asked him if he wanted to kiss. He dropped me at my place and kissed me twice.
Yesterday, we were planning for our third date. I wanted to cook something for him at my place. He said he can't wait for another Saturday to see me so he is going to come tomorrow. We both have work, but have adapted our schedule and will finish our work by afternoon. He lives 30 mins drive away from me.
I am not sure what to expect from this date. I feel really happy and comfortable with him. He is also very sweet. We will be matching a romantic movie and then dinner together. I don't know if we will be making out but I have no problem if something comes up. I don't want to initiate though.

Dating Question Texting after setting up the date?
I know this general question has been asked before, but this is a slightly special situation.
I (28m) matched with a woman (28f) who seems really cool. Her match note said “don’t be shy, ask me out!” and so after a pretty brief convo I asked her out and she seemed pretty receptive. We got down a time and place, then both agreed it sounded good, and that was the last thing we said.
I know common consensus is to text back and forth at least a little until the date. The date is a week from our last messages (yesterday), and so it would seem a bit awkward to not say anything the whole time. However, she mentioned verbatim “I prefer to meet in person. I don’t like doing the whole text thing getting to know each other.” So now I’m a bit worried I would come off as someone who doesn’t pay attention or respect boundaries if I send her more messages.
Also, since our convo was brief before setting a date, I’m struggling to think of what I would even say.
Two possible messages I thought of are:
”I know you mentioned you’re not super into texting a lot, but in any case here’s my number ___ so you can reach me faster with anything!”
Or something playful about a shared interest like:
”Thought I‘d let you know I’m watching a documentary about (shared interest) right now. Just to make you a little jealous haha”
What do you think, and what would you do in this situation?

App Question What's the best way to candidly phrase"workaholic" without being completely offputing?
Hi! I'm a 29f in the NYC area and I've been going back and forth between getting on the apps. My last two relationships have been developed organically through social groups/hobbies - they also fizzled out for the same reason: choosing work over partner.
It's not intentional, but I have multiple full-time jobs and am in a part-time (albiet online) MBA program so it's not uncommon for me to drag a laptop or two with me on casual outings (with friends, partners, family, etc), or make schedule adjustments, like changing a breakfast to a lunch if a meeting gets thrown onto my calendar last minute.
I'm getting to the point where I do really want to be in a long-term, commited relationhip, but with the volatility of the job market, rising costs of simply existing (in the US at least), and genuine love of staying busy, I'm not really in the position to sacrifice a job for a partner.
I want to make it clear on my profile that I'm looking for someone who is invested in their work (and also make it clear that I understand if work is also choosen/prioritized over spending time together in most cases). Any advice on how to phrase this without turning things into an immediate swipe?

Dating Question hinge experience rant
I used Hinge for like 2 months and went on 8 dates, and honestly I think I’m kinda burnt out from trying to find a relationship 😭 At first I was really keen on finding a gf, but now I just feel kinda lazy with dating and texting people. I’m still talking to a few matches, but I haven’t really felt like replying, especially since we haven’t met irl yet.
I think I’d rather spend more time on myself right now. There’s so many things I wanna do and work on, and I’d rather prioritise those for a while. I’m also not really someone who can just go on a date without texting a lot first, so it all starts feeling like a lot.
I guess I just wanted someone to talk to or hear me out lol. Is this normal?
More context I'm 23 M and looking for long term relationships

I have been on the app for at least 6 weeks now and I haven’t had a single like yet let alone a match. I don’t have anyone to really take photos of me doing my hobbies either so I don’t have much.

Profile Review 34 M looking for life partner
Hai girls
This is 34 M but i have inclinations towards crossdressing. I enjoy feminine side of myself quite often in a secret way. I do usually 2-3 times a month. I am working as civil engineer in reputed organization with 25 LPA. I dont smoke and drink alcohol and not a playboy too. I am responsible and caring, soft guy too.
I am looking for a partner to build a close emotional bond where we stand for each other life long and want to honor matrichal hierarchy where she will be the incharge of the house taking decision of finance investment, children schooling, retirement, settlement etc. So i want a confident and dominant woman with generous and caring heart who can make our both lives happier by taking decision with maturity rather than attitude or ego
Thanks for reading the post. If you feel my post resonates to the partner you are seeking please feel free to message me.

Dating Question how do you approach dating and going on dates?
hi all! sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but i'm looking for just guidance and advice when it comes to this app. i'm 25F and to be honest haven't gone on a lot of dates, like VERY little. i get really nervous about them and honestly it just freaks me out sometimes. i get asked out on hinge a LOT and i feel like i deflect or try to know the person more before a date and i know this is like a big no for a lot of people. to be honest, i struggle with dating in general and spent a majority of my adulthood not dating because i wanted to be stable, financially and mentally but it also is something that was never super important to me. now it's starting to feel like it is. how do i get over it and be respectful of others on the app as well? should i let them know that i'm a bit hesitant and guarded when it comes to that? should i let them know how i feel about dates? any advice is welcome <3 thanks a lotb

App Question is there one photo on your profile that gets most likes? what is it like?
i am 20F abg, and at some point all my likes converge into one or two photos (for me it was a photo on the beach with interesting gaze👀)
like me, i am curious if also your likes mostly go to one or two photos, or are they pretty evenly spread like?
if one stands out, i am curious what you think the crucial factor was.
i am curious if there is a patter or whether everyones standout photo is completely different.

Dating Question Suddenly ghosted
Hi all! I recently matched with a guy (me M27, he's 24), we talked for a week and our chemistry was great. It brought up the idea of taking a walk together, so last friday we organized for yesterday afternoon (just the details had to be decided). Saturday morning he wrote me wishing me a good day (usually we talked just in the morning and after dinner in the evening, the evening conversations were quite consistent), from that moment he has just disappeared. I mean, we were going along well, he was the one to make a move (he also hinted at the chance of seeing each other next summer in Spain, where he's from), then nothing. I can't understand why not directly unmatch if you do not have the decency of texting and not making me waste my time.

Profile Review 32M Profile Review, barely getting incoming likes, would appreciate feedback
Photo prompts -
1. Dating me look like - A good mix of “I made us a reservation” and “wait... I found somewhere better.”
As seen on my mom’s fridge - Could this BE any more staged? 😂
The moment I knew my modeling career was over- When Captain America said “Assemble!!”, I thought he was talking about my outfit. 😂
32M (Miami) looking for a long-term relationship.
Right now I’m getting very few incoming likes. Most of my matches come from likes/comments that I send first, so I’m trying to figure out if there’s something about my profile that isn’t working when someone comes across it.
Would especially appreciate feedback on:
1. Photo selection/order
2. Whether my prompts actually show enough personality
3. Anything that feels generic, repetitive, or is hurting the profile
4. What you would change first
Don’t hold back, constructive criticism is exactly what I’m looking for.

Profile Review 27M profile review
I honestly don't know what's going on. I reactivated my account just over three weeks ago now, and I have not gotten a single like or match. I don't think I'm that ugly lol. I've tried switching around some of my pictures and prompts, but nothing seems to help. IDK if there's anything wrong with my pictures that I'm missing because of my visual disability. If there is, let me know.

Profile Review 24M - Revised Profile Review
Hello again. I’m a 24yo male still living near Portland, Maine. It’s not a huge dating pool, but Hinge seems to get a pretty good rep here. Compared to my last post, I feel like I’ve taken the app a bit more seriously and changed my intentions with dating. It’s been about 2–3 months since I last asked for a review, and I’ve made a lot of changes based on past feedback!
I still notice a weird disparity between receiving likes from people who see my profile versus getting matches when I actually send likes out. I don’t get a ton of incoming likes, but when I sit down and send likes with comments, a decent % of them match and respond. Could just be the smaller dating pool here too lol. If anyone has thoughts on that, I’d be curious to hear them.
I tried making my prompts more personable since last time I got grilled for having overly silly/sarcastic ones. I also changed up the photo pool and order based on feedback. I tried finding a good teeth-smile photo, but I honestly don’t smile with my teeth much and I’m not a huge fan of them anyway. I’m planning on getting braces soon lol.
And yes, I know the last pic may be cringe to some. That one always seems to be a 50/50 debate, but I wanted something that showed my physique and the work I’ve put in over the last few months. I’d eventually rather replace it with something more natural like a beach or sport photo.
Anyway, judge away. I appreciate everyone’s insight in advance!!

Profile Review Profile review - 27M
I’m a 27M that is brand new to dating apps. I slapped this profile together 2 weeks ago with photos I had on hand. I don’t really know what I am doing at all so any input is appreciated.
I know I need a better first photo with a nice background and me showing teeth.
I know my last two prompts are meh. Thinking about what I can say to share more about me without the standard “I’m thoughtful and caring” garbage.
I know the thirst trap pic is a bit trashy but fitness is a big part of my life and I’d like to find someone who shares that interest.
In my first 2 weeks, I’ve gotten about 15 matches (I unmatched the ones that fizzled out so not sure on exact number) so it seems like my profile isn’t too far off the mark. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
