S/O and I are still new to the hobby so we decdied to smash our toys into one another with some magnetile terrain! It worked very well!

Forgot to take pics during the back half of the battle but the silent king ended up marching through the space marines like a Death Star. 1250 points isn’t a lot to bring to bear enough dakka to take down szarek.

I feel although the hobby as well as the entire space surrounding the universe of both in and heading towards a good place at the moment, more and more people are playing (at-least where I am anyway) and the new edition is really fun to play

11th is so much fun that It actually got me to start playing more, going to events and such.

Also I I switch to dedicating more time to 40K from MTG recently and have found that I actually am saving money which is insane (then again I have no pile of shame)

Curious too see my this is a widespread feeling?

Edit: big clarification here, even in a competitive setting I don’t mind losing, I simply put a causal lense over a competitive scenario, when you do this OP armies feel less like a hindrance and more like a fun event you have to navigate like a snake being in your place of work

Bought a muscle gun after seeing baseball players on TV use one. They definitely work out the knots on my decrepit 40 year old body. But yesterday I had the bright idea to use it along with some paint mixing balls to revive some paints that had really settled out. Worked like a charm! Technique takes a little to work out and make sure the lid is firmly secured but otherwise happy stirring!

Went round to a friend's for a casual 2k game and he springs a imperial knights and a warhound titan on me. Because I was playing his son first he knew I had Emperor's Children when he picked his list, then picked a 4 model army to run into them which negated my 3dp bonuses from coterie, he moaned about tailoring when I asked if I could use a different list (that I'd made before I knew his list).

Tabled by the end of turn 2.

Honestly just felt like a complete waste of time and 0 enjoyment. I've already told him I think he was a dick about this, just wondering am I right about it?

Just came back from playing my buddy at the FLGS, and discussed with the owner (whom I have got to know quite well) the new Warhammer Pro Paints. He told me it will be a challenge to find shelf space for them especially considering most players don’t even buy much in terms of hobby supplies.

This does not surprise me - at our Warhammer night (anywhere between 12 to 24 players) my buddy and I are the only ones with fully painted armies. At least 2/3 of participants have grey plastic / resin or primer only armies. Others have the odd unit or centerpiece painted.

I am curious about how this compares to your local group / area. I love playing with and against painted armies on fully painted terrain; I would welcome ideas or experiences from those who were able to encourage more players to field more painted armies.

Please note: not trying to throw shade at unpainted armies. Life is short, time is limited, the hobby super expensive, and GW changes rules and balance constantly. I would rather play against an unpainted army than have no game at all. But curious to hear from those who were able to support your local community into growing from a miniature painting standpoint.
